Function on Full!

I have to remind myself often that I AM EQUIPPED to live a FULLfilled life. Colossians 2:10, says "For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority." Immediately the word “filled” jumped out at me. What is up with “being filled” you ask? This phrase is continuously grabbing my attention in various passages of the Bible:

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. -Ephesians 5:18

For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother's womb. -Luke 1:15

When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. -Luke 1:41

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. -Acts 2:4

And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. -Acts 13:52

Do you see a pattern? God makes no mistakes in His Word. It is infallible. Time after time, the Bible speaks of being “filled.” The bible also references similarly being “full” of the Spirit. The bible could have easily stated otherwise but I believe God wanted us to grasp being full to capacity! We never have to function on "E" or empty. In Christ there is no lack! When we are filled daily with the power and presence of God, there is no room for lack. Rather, we are always empowered with whatever is needed in our lives. I find everything I need in Christ! Circumstances and responsibilities have increased and have caused me to seek God like never before. I have had a relationship with Jesus Christ from an early age. But over and over again I have to refuel and reposition myself to have all that God wants for me. I have a desire to mature as a disciple of Christ and God wants that from us all of our lives!! I thank God for giving me this desire! Hallelujah!

I’m ready to conquer emotions that get the best of me at times… Ready to not allow depressed thoughts and anxiety to consume me…and I’m ready to remove any new distractions that may keep me from hearing the voice of the Lord clearly… God showed me that being intentional about applying his Word to every struggle was important, but maximizing my time with him throughout my day was crucial. Ladies, never forget that it is a fight to reign in our sinful flesh, and this fight will continue, until the day we die. But with each fight, comes a victory!!! We will always end on the winning side with Christ as our MAIN source!

I realized I can't function off of less than “full” in my life, everyday! What use to work, was not working before and I was feeling depleted. I have had to dig deeper yall! More prayer, more of God’s Word, more worship! Worship helps you to focus on who God is and is essential to having a proper point of view for the rest of your day. I realized also, the importance of God ordained relationships to help propel me forward. I can keep going awhile in my zone, but I don't believe thats God's best. God will connect you with those ladies that are needed specifically for your journey. I know it because I have seen God add some wonderfully ladies to my circle over the years and recently. I’m soo grateful!! No one wants to journey alone, because God intended for us to lift each other up!

I desperately need Jesus to fill me each and every day, I can not get complacent. I love talking about these types of spiritual matters with my mother. She is a woman who loves the Lord and has great wisdom. Something she has said several times throughout my life is, "The devil is not playing with you!” This reminds me, I must stay diligent in seeking to be full of God's Spirit because, trust me, the enemy has a plan too. And He would like nothing more than for me to get distracted. I encourage you ladies, to remain full of the power and presence of God!!!

No request is too small to take to God. I ask God to help me with the best way to get my housecleaning done, shop for groceries and my larger goals. And guess what? God is helping me achieve more than I ever imagined. He shows me moments of opportunity, that I had overlooked before to be more productive. Moments when I can take some time to fellowship with him; in my car, while washing the dishes, and in conversations I have with others. God wants you and I to be filled to the brim daily. As we do this, God will take us to new heights in Him. We will not function as depleted Christian woman, but rather…FULL. Christ will sustain us emotionally, physically, and mentally. Remember today to keep your gauge on full!!

I love you Lord! Fill me with more of you for this new day! Fill me God! Nothing else will do! You are my source! Thank you for filling me with your grace and power this day. In Jesus name amen.
