I am actively walking out what I share in these posts with you all each week. This weekend was life changing for me. I have been praying and asking God to remove any hidden hindrances that would prevent me from carrying out His will confidently. During an impactful Sunday sermon and worship, I was delivered and set free from carrying condemnation. You can not carry out the will of God when you don't like what you see in the mirror. My daddy once told me growing up, "You can run, but you can never run from yourself." This has built in me a habit of taking time to reflect within. I realized that as much as I have grown and changed my life over time...The enemy still had a stronghold on me. I have allowed him to beat me up from time to time about past mistakes, my flaws, my inadequacies, that I have had during my life. I have read scripture, prayed, and been mentored on this very thing. But I still had not conquered this very thing. But finally, I have set aside this burden, and left it, never to pick it up again.

I had my first child out of wedlock, I dropped out of college once pregnant... And I can not say I have been the perfect daughter, wife, or mom. But, you know what ? We are not called to be perfect...but we are called to live redeemed!! True repentance brings about a life change, and it has for me. My heart truly grieves that I have hurt the heart of God, but I am overjoyed that He did not let me stay in my mess but he has long since, opened my eyes to see that He has the best plan for me. I am thankful God has brought me to this point, because as I go through life, I recognize I will make other mistakes but,I will never stay there. My heart belongs to my Savior and with a repentant heart I will get up and keep pressing towards the mark. Condemnation can weigh heavy and leave you in a dark frame of mind. I know I am not the only one who has dealt with this very thing. Maybe you have made decisions in your past that you truly regret and the enemy still taunts at you. Maybe there are things you struggle with right now and you feel like their is a wall you cant get over so you can have all that God has for you. The enemy has told you that you dont deserve to live free, because of your failures... Nothing could be more untrue. Don't allow the enemy to use your past as an excuse to not live free and fulfill your destiny!!

I understand that forgiving yourself, may take some time, that is why the bible calls certain things we go thru as "STRONGHOLDS." But I encourage you, do not give up until you have released whatever it is that is holding you back. You DO deserve a fulfilled life!! Why? Because Jesus died for it! If you have prayed and fasted, don't give up. Nothing can take the place of what God's presence can do for you in just a few moments. No matter what you have done in the past or present, God loves you and will forgive you. All God needs is a repentant heart and a vessel that is yielded to doing His will. Do not let your past determine your future, because what lies ahead for you is soo much better!

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit -Romans 8:1-5(ESV)

Prayer: Thank you Lord that I am free from condemnation! Thank you God for your power that has redeemed me and wants to use me for your glory!!! I no longer see me, but You and your power living in me. Amen!

  1. Amen, I can relate with my own past mistakes! Thank you for the sweet reminder..."There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus!"

  2. What a beautiful blog! What a beautiful reminder that God has truly forgiven us and that is the reason we are free! Thank you for your transparency. We all struggle at times with this very thing. The enemy is called an "accuser." That's because he brings up our past and tries to hold us back. But he is defeated! We need only to remember the blood of Jesus and to keep pressing forward! May God continue to strengthen you and keep your focus on Him as you press forward and continue to stay FREE!
