Don't Doubt

I have accepted the plan and purpose of God in my life for this season. My spirit is willing but my flesh is soo weak. When doubt begins to come in, I know it is a sign of a bigger problem. Why is it, that sometimes, we allow ourselves, life circumstances, and other things, to cause us to doubt what God would have us to do? I have been reminded lately that after I give God my “yes,” I will no longer be able to stay content with what was once familiar. Each new level in Christ requires more dedication and commitment. And it also means the enemy will attack in more subtle ways, because He knows I am on high alert.

I admit I have allowed some doubts to enter my mind. But thanks be to God, they will not become manifested in my life! This time when doubt showed up in my life I realized it started with, self-pity. Why me God? All this? And God in His small still voice answered, “Yes, you lack discipline.” I consider myself a very disciplined person. But God knows how to stretch me and show me where I need growth. When God wants to use us in a different way, He will begin to have us use muscles that we have not needed to use before. In the same way, when we don’t exercise parts of our physical bodies and then start training, we get sore. My, my, my am I realizing that this new discipline God wants to work in me is quite uncomfortable. But it is worth it! We must also never stop seeking new ways to grow spiritually daily. We must keep trimming the fat of carnality off our lives. The only mirror that we need to use is our Father. Whatever He deems is no longer of use, allow Him to cut it!!! When we do this, it draws us closer to God and helps us to grow. As we grow spiritually, we are more readily able to recognize doubt when it tries to come and visit …and we can immediately shut the door.

I am excited to embark upon more time in God’s word and reading some new books in the upcoming year. I know that utilizing this and other tools will help to increase my faith. I believe that God is going to do something awesome in and thru our lives for His glory. I am still amazed that God would want to use me, before He laid the foundations of the earth!

Don’t allow doubt to deprive you from fulfilling your destiny. Every word of God is true about you. Believe God and stay faithful to ALL He has intended for you to do!

Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind -James 1:4-6(NIV)
