Week of Prayer:
Meditating on Who God Is

This week is about prayer and for those that feel led to accompany it, the 7-Day Daniel’s Fast. There are many scriptures on fasting and prayer and I encourage you to read and study them. Fasting is always accompanied by prayer. But, before I come asking for anything from the Lord, I want to focus on “who” God is! I can read scriptures about who God is, but I have to allow time to meditate on it for it to become truly meaningful in my heart. My spirit knows God’s Word is true, but my mind and feelings must be pulled into alignment with God’s Word. It can be a struggle accomplishing this. Although I know the Bible says, “My God is all sufficient,” at times I still feel overwhelmed? Can you relate? When this happens, I know if I intentionally meditate and saturate my mind, body, and spirit in the Word of God, it strengthens my faith, and this flesh of mine, will wholeheartedly come into alignment with God’s point of view! Take time to read these few scriptures and others that focus on the attributes of who God is.

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever -Psalm 16:11(NLT)

Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible
-Matthew 19:26(NLT)

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence
- 2Peter 1:3(NLT)

Be encouraged! This is a new day and a new week! I pray that as we make a decision to focus first on who God is, we will position ourselves to have a mind like Christ. Alignment of our mind, will, and emotions, will not happen by osmosis, it will only be accomplished by meditating on the Word of God!

I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified - 1 Corinthians 9:27(NLT)

I thank God that today, He is changing our minds and our hearts to receive a greater magnitude of His power! There is nothing our God cannot do!

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name - 1 Chronicles 29:11-13(NIV)
