Good Friday: A Time to Remember

But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. -Isaiah 53:5 NLT

He was pierced…
Whatever is in us, that is not like Jesus, can come out! He allowed a sword to brake His flesh. He was pierced! Christ paid the ultimate price. And if we allow Him, he will break whatever layers lie within in us, that have, or ever will, cause us to choose rebellion in our lives.

He was crushed…
Jesus eliminated all satanic structures set up in this world; such as racism, socialism, and classism, that would prevent us from functioning fully in Christ.

He was beaten…
Jesus won victory over the sin of beating ourselves down, the sin of allowing others to break us, and anything we have done to break our relationship with the Father. Thank God for His grace! Whenever we step out of His will, He can make us whole again, because he took our beating on every level at the cross!

He was whipped…
When we commit sin, it rips away at our gifted holiness purchased by Jesus. Only the blood of Jesus can completely heal the spiritual, emotional, and sometimes even physical pain we must deal with, when we allow the enemy to “whip” on us when we disobey (John 8:34).

Take the time to remember all that Christ did for us and challenge yourself to allow Him to make changes in your life/lifestyle. Jesus thought you were worth dying for! You are precious to Jesus. There is no better way to commemorate what He did for us, than to take a personal inventory. If you are unsure of what you need to improve upon in your lifestyle, ask a family member or trusted friend. As we allow ourselves to be broken for the use of Christ, let us always remember what a costly price He paid for us to live life to the fullest!
