Change

Happy Friday!!! We have made it through another blessed week! In case you missed last week, I began sharing some of my testimony of what God has done in my life over the years. My hope is that you can relate to some or all of what I shared. I share my story to let you know that, like you, I’m not perfect. It’s good news to know that we serve a God who makes use of our imperfections. If you haven’t read last week’s post, I encourage you to go back and read it. My relationship with the Lord was not where it should have been and consequently it caused a domino effect on my relationships with others. Sometimes when we are in a state of disobedience, we think it only affects us. That is never the case. Whenever we are not fully living out our purpose, we are withholding what God wants to accomplish in and through us for His kingdom. If you have not already surrendered your life to God, I encourage you to do so. If you feel God drawing you to grow deeper and take an uncomfortable step in serving Him and his people, I encourage you to take that step and move forward. I made many mistakes in life, but I have never regretted saying “yes” to the Lord and His Will for me. Deep down, I always knew this was the best decision I could ever make. Don’t allow fear to be your catalyst in life. Faith in God’s Word will cause you to succeed. Consider God’s track record in your life. Has He ever failed you? I rest my case!

Continuing from last week, as time went on, I began making changes in my life for the better and God did what only He can do! He is a God of restoration in all areas! My boyfriend and I repented of our lifestyle and eventually we got married. My mom, whom I knew was hurt, because she wanted better for me, eventually came around. She was the first one to the hospital when I delivered my healthy baby boy. And as time went on, the Lord reconciled our relationship. There’s no one like our parents, and I have been blessed to have two great ones. My dad, well, he had his apprehensions about my husband, but they too dissolved in time. He and my husband developed a loving bond, as they got to know each other. It was easy to see how much my husband loved God, me, and our family. You see, I know that your story may have the exact beginning, middle or even the ending that I shared in my story. But what I want you to know is, that Jesus makes all the difference. I still have not completed my bachelor’s degree and there were many hard moments in my life, but God showed up and He has made my life more beautiful than I could have imagined! I’d love to tell you more about some of the things I learned along the way, things that have continued to stick with me through the years…But, I will share more about that next week! Until then, be encouraged that God can always restore, if we are willing and use your story for His glory!!!

Then Jesus said to His disciples, if anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [ cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also]. -Matthew 16:24(AMP)
