Enjoying Every Moment

Sometimes I get discouraged trying to make plans or schedule things. An example for this is how unnecessarily difficult just having a date night with my husband can become. I love when my husband and I get date nights out. I know time together is essential to our relationship and date nights are not the only way we can connect. However, sometimes when the ideal situation does not present itself for a long time, I get a little anxious. 1 Corinthians 7:17a says, “Live and obey and love and believe right there. GOD, not your marital status, defines your life...”

We may not be able to have as many dates as we like right now. We are a family of five with three young children. But when we resist anxiety and trust God with our marriage, He is able to maximize our short moments together.

In the midst of it all, as husband and wife, chose to live your best life together, enjoying even small moments, as often as you can. And remember, you CAN live life to the fullest because it’s blessed in Christ! Stay sensitive and alert to God’s voice in any and all situations. Believe that God’s grace and guidance in this season is more than enough to see you through. In the end, God alone defines the status of our lives.

Here are three tangible ways to help you succeed in your marriage and stay connected with your mate this summer:
1.) Be busy together. (Do as many tasks together as possible, even simple ones.)
2.) Leave love notes around the house for each other.
3.) Make plans to spend time together, way in advance, and stick to it!

And remember, “Ask the Lord to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out!” (Emphasis mine) Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Enjoy this summer with your spouse, family, and friends! I will return to making posts in September. Please pray for me as I work on updates and God’s continued direction. I will be keeping you all in my prayers as well!
Love and Blessings
